Malfunction Phenomenon<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/o_p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Received an iPhone 6s with boot issue from customer.<\/span>
<\/span>Try to press the power key button to power on, the phone cannot be booted and check the DC power supply with 50mA current leakage.<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n



Troubleshooting Process
<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/pre>\n
First, we should have some basic idea about the boot process main related chips and components.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
Just <\/span>similar <\/span><\/span>as iPhone series, like iPhone 7 and iPhone X. The boot process related with below main chips and components.<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n
· <\/span>Battery Connector<\/span>: J2400<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
· <\/span>Charging IC: U2300<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
· <\/span>Power switch connector: J4700<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
· <\/span>PMU: U2000<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
· <\/span>32.768KHz Crystal: Y2200<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
· <\/span>24MHz Crystal:<\/span> <\/span>Y0600<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
· <\/span>CPU: U0600<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Then the second step, let’s take apart the phone and run the cosmetic inspection of motherboard.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
Since the issue is can not start up with 50mA current leakage, based on repair experience. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
There is a high chance the issue is caused by the lines between PMU and CPU, like the power supply rails and I2C control rails etc.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
After checking, we found the R0900 is missing, which is just located in the I2C bus lines.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
Then resolder a resistor with the same specification and test, the phone can be booted normally.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
Assmeble the phone and test again. All function works well, issue get resolved perfectly.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The serious issue may caused by little components, do not afraid of the tough nut!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
