The phone had no service after being dropped and couldn\u2019t be activated after a system upgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, inspect the appearance of the motherboard. Connect the display and battery. Insert the SIM card. The phone can be turned on. Open 3uTools and view device details. 3uTools is unable to read data of the baseband version and Wi-Fi module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.rewa.tech\/image\/c910e5af-7861-4d14-ad1b-c8dd364789ba-iPhone XS no service[00_01_27][20210528-100728].jpg\" alt=\"Fix iPhone XS No Service\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Because the phone had no service after being dropped. It can be preliminarily judged that the pseudo-soldering of the middle layer may cause the trouble. Next, we need to separate the motherboard. Put the motherboard on the <a style=\"color: #0066cc;\" href=\"https:\/\/shop.rewa.tech\/detail\/anti-static-professional-edition-heating-platform-for-motherboard-cpu-face-id-wl-mini203h-oem-new.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Heating Platform<\/a> and peel off the foam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.rewa.tech\/image\/db9e0456-e311-482c-95c5-1a15a277c001-iPhone XS no service[00_02_38][20210528-100751].jpg\" alt=\"Fix iPhone XS No Service\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To make it easier to remove the logic board after separation, drive a screw on the logic board. When the temperature reaches 180\u2103, press the signal board with a pair of tweezers. Clamp the screw to remove the logic board with another pair of tweezers. Attach the signal board to the holder. Dip rosin with Soldering Iron at 365\u2103 and solder wick to remove tin on the bonding pad. Clean the signal board with PCB Cleaner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.rewa.tech\/image\/5c7a48ce-0dd8-4416-9bcc-a32554b2dbb4-iPhone XS no service[00_05_59][20210528-100937].jpg\" alt=\"Fix iPhone XS No Service\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Attach the signal board and logic board to the Testing Fixture. Connect the screen to the motherboard with a Test Extension Cable. Connect the charging port flex cable and power cable. Then turn the phone on by connecting it with the computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.rewa.tech\/image\/3fe6524a-4b69-4111-acc9-9db7f01ea4da-iPhone XS no service[00_07_33][20210528-101018].jpg\" alt=\"Fix iPhone XS No Service\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Open 3uTools and view device details. The baseband version and Wi-Fi module can be read. It can be confirmed that the pseudo soldering causes the absence of the baseband version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.rewa.tech\/image\/347e560d-5ba0-4d7d-bb15-2f3ff131b92f-iPhone XS no service[00_07_58][20210528-101037].jpg\" alt=\"Fix iPhone XS No Service\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The next thing we need to do is to recombine the logic board and signal board. Put the signal board on the Reballing Platform. Put the Reballing Stencil in position. To prevent the solder paste from flowing into the motherboard crevices, insert a metal plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.rewa.tech\/image\/96c331b8-82c3-4281-b273-e98e516e62d8-iPhone XS no service[00_09_05][20210528-104754].jpg\" alt=\"Fix iPhone XS No Service\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Apply a layer of low-temperature Solder Paste. Wipe off excess solder paste with an anti-static wipe. Remove the Reballing Stencil and signal board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.rewa.tech\/image\/ba21f628-bb2b-41e8-ae91-57ed84800ca6-iPhone XS no service[00_10_02][20210528-101051].jpg\" alt=\"Fix iPhone XS No Service\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Put the signal board on the Heating Platform. Set the temperature to 180\u2103 to heat. After the solder balls are formed, turn off the power and cool the signal board. Apply some Paste Flux. Align the logic board with the signal board. Keep heating the motherboard at 180 \u2103. When the temperature has risen to 180\u2103, keep heating for one minute. The phone can be turned on. Insert the SIM card. ICCID is showing. Because the phone has a network lock and we don\u2019t have a SIM card of the carrier. Through motherboard separation and testing the phone on the testing fixture, we confirmed that the no service trouble was caused by the pseudo soldering of the motherboard middle layer.
