iPhone XR kann nicht gestartet werden, verursacht durch Fallschaden

Received an iPhone XR can not start up caused by very serious drop damage.

When the phone get received, we can see the phone do get very very serious drop damage, the screen get totally cracked.

Normally like this kind of drop damage, the no boot/no display issue with a high chance is caused by the motherboard damage rather than parts damage like screen or battery damage etc.

First, take out the motherboard.

After carefully checking, we can see the motherboard get deformed already.

Then connect the motherboard with DC power supply, no trigger the power on process, and there’s a 300mA current already. So obviously the current leakage is caused by the main power supply short.

Let’s continue to measure the diode value on the main power supply with multimeter, the measured diode value is 80 only. So it must be the components related with PP_VDD_MAIN with problem.

Take off the shielding cover, we find there is a chip which on the right downside corner get cracekd

Check the Refox bitmap, we can see it’s the charging IC U3300.

Find a new charging IC with same specification and replace it.

Then test again, the phone can be booted normally, and the start current curve is also normally.

Issue get fixed by charging IC replacement.
