On November 3, 2025, Apple released iOS 26.1, the first major update to iOS 26. Even though Apple didn’t announce it, but iOS 26.1 brings significant changes for the repair industry-especially for third-party screen y batería users. The most fascinating discovery is that iOS 26.1 now pairs the screen with the original front sensor flex cable, especially on newer models.

  3. After it’s marked as Usado, install the front sensor flex.

Resultado

  • All devices passed Repair Assistant successfully.
  • The original front sensor flex is NOT required for RA to pass.

iPhone 15 & 16: iOS 26.1 Adds New Front Sensor Flex Pairing

This is where things change dramatically.

Test 1: IC Transfer + Original Flex

  • Transfer original display IC to aftermarket screen.
  • Install original front sensor flex.

  • System recognizes the screen as expected.

Test 2: Non-Original Flex Installed

  • Same screen setup, but using non-original front sensor flex.

This behavior was repeated across:

  • Install diagnostic screen → Run Repair Assistant → Pass
  • Install original flex → Recognized as Usado, no alerts
  • Replace with non-original flex → Unknown Part detected

For iPhone 15 and 16 models, iOS 26.1 now pairs the front sensor flex with the motherboard.
Original flex cable is required to:
