iPhone 11 series common issues and repair methods sharing.
iPhone 11
Insert SIM card but no service
- The defect with a high chance is caused by the C1402_K on the VFE_HI_3V15 rail with problem, the reason of this capacitor is easy to damage should be caused by it’s located at the bottom side of the motherboard, which is very easy to get damged by ESD, water damge, drop damage or imporper disassembling operations.
- Repair solution: as the C1402_K is a filter type capacitor, we can just remove it with tweezer directly. (The motherboard should be disassembled by the heating platform first, reference heating temperature 150℃, heating time: heat another 20s when the heating platform reaching the setting temperature)
Half bright and half dim screen
- This kind of issue should be caused by the LED backlight drivers relative circuit, and the issue with a high chance is caused by the inductors on the backlight circuit as shown as below picture. The inductor L5652 with a higher failure rate!
- Repair solution: replace the inductor with a new one with the same specification (As we can see, the inductor is under the shielding cover, so the shielding cover should be removed first. )
Volume Up button function failure
- The inductor FL8442 which located on the very bottom side of the motherboard is very easy to get damaged when cellphone disassembling. (above the upper antenna connector J_UAT_K)
- Repair solution: we can just get the inductor FL8442 shorted by some solder tin wire directly.
Drop Damaged Phone No Service
- Reason: the basedband problem with high chance is caused by the Transceiver IC XCVR_K get damaged
- Repair solution: replace the transceiver IC XCVR_K with a new one (Part number PMB5765)
