Where there is the device needs to be charged, there is a charging issue. iPhone is one of the most commonly used devices in our daily life, also with no exception. In this article, we will share some iPhone no charging issue repair tips with you. Hope that could be helpful for your iPhone repair and maintenance.
Reason 1. Charging port with a poor connection
The phones are getting more and more portable, we can put them into our bags, trouser pockets, etc. Which is quite convenient. But the dust and tiny wool are everywhere, after a long time of use, the phone charging port may get stuffed with dust & tiny wools, and this can cause a poor connection and no charging issue.
Solution: We can clean the charging port gently with a toothpick or SIM ejector. After cleaning, reconnect with the charging cable and test, the no charging issue might get fixed.
Reason 2. The charging cable gets damaged or the charging pins get corrosive
Solution: check the charging cable and pins carefully, if you find the cable damage or pins get corrosive. It’s better to replace a new charging cable directly to ensure the best charging effect.
Reason 3. Improper USB charging voltage
Especially when we charge the phone with a computer/laptop USB port, the charging current is not stable enough.
Solution: it’s better to charge via charging adapter and cable. Besides that, double-check the charging socket and charging cable, ensure the connection is good.
Reason 4. The low temperature
The lithium battery is very sensitive to temperature, especially the low temperature.
When charging the phone in a low-temperature environment, the phone might charge slowly or even have no charging
Solution: charge the phone in a room-temperature environment. For example, in the winter we charge the phone in a room with an air conditioner or heating supply.
Tips: When the iPhone temperature is too high, in order to protect battery life the system will limit the charging process when it’s charged to 80%. So it’s advised to cool down the phone first then charge, and it’s better not to play the phone during the charging process.
Reason 5. Battery drain
Every battery has battery life. When a phone has been used for years, or some physical or chemical damage. The charging function may get failed.
Solution 1:
Go to the Setting > Battery > Battery Health, check the Maximum Capacity. Normally,
- using for a year the percentage should be around 85%
- using for 2 years the percentage should be around 75%
If it’s a very low battery percentage, then ask a qualified repair technician to replace a new & qualified battery for you.
Solution 2:
If it’s totally no charging even after replacing the battery, charging port charging cable, etc.
Then you’ll need to check the motherboard. And repairing a motherboard is not an easy job! If you cannot make it by yourself, it’s advised to send the phone to the local repair shop to repair.
