iPhone X Apps Crashing Repair
Model: iPhone X
Announced: 2017, September 12
Defect Phenomenon
As the client described, the phone Apps keep crashing. And the phone has been restored a few days ago, so we can exclude the possibility of this issue being caused by the system or the software.
Troubleshooting
Before separating the phone and the motherboard, we have tried to restore with iTunes. And when restore, it reports error 1100. Based on the repair experience we target the possible reason is the CPU upper layer.
Repair Process
Remove the upper layer of the CPU with the hot air gun and sculpture knife.
Remove the upper layer little by little
- do not continuously heat the chip with the hot air gun
- be careful not to damage the lower layer when prying with the sculpture knife
Remove the residual glue on the surface and clean the tin pads.
After that, solder back the upper layer
- apply a little bit of solder flux on the surface
- align the upper layer with the lower layer
- heat with the hot air gun, push with a tweezer slightly, and the chip could back to position means the soldering is OK.
Deal with the pads on the middle layer of the motherboard, and ensure each pad is in the good condition.
Then assemble the motherboard by the heating platform
- Align the upper layer and the lower layer of the motherboard with the tweezers slightly
- Set the temperature of the heating platform at 130℃
- Press the power button to start to heat, and heat another 1 minute when the motherboard sinks down and solder flux flows out

After the motherboard recombination is finished, we can assemble the phone and test it. The Apps can be opened normally, and the other functions also work fine.
Summary
The App crashing of iPhone X and report error code 1100 has a high chance is caused by CPU poor soldering, making more practice, and handling a good CPU resolder and motherboard recombination skill, you can fix the issue easily!
