Malfunction Phenomenon
Receive an iPhone X Boot loop With Large Current when we turned it on, and the current was larger than normal when we checked with the DC power supply.
Trouble Shooting
Large current means there might be some shorted issue. Then we can take out the motherboard and turned on to test first, touch the motherboard to feel which part gets hot, we found the NAND flash chip and its surrounding area was hot. There were too many components in this area.
Then we used a thermal camera to help us to locate the shorted components. With the help of the thermal camera, we could see that C2647 was extremely hot, which indicates that the fault was related to C2647.
After replacing the capacitor with a new one, assembled all parts, and turned on the phone to test again.
The phone can be turned on normally, the problem gets resolved.
