Troubleshooting and Repair Process

Connect with charger but no response. First change another battery to test to exclude the no charging issue is caused by the battery drain.

 

Then take out the motherboard and test, measure the diode value find short on the motherboard.

And the short is on the main power supply rail.

 

As we can see from the picture, by measuring the shorted component is the filter capacitor around the Wi-Fi module.

Just tick off the shorted capacitor directly, then the diode value back to normal.

The assemble the phone to test, phone can boot normally.

 

Tips

As the main power supply get shorted, the original battery get drained. We need to active the battery then the charging function can be back to normal.

The cannot boot issue resolved by replacing the filter type capacitor around the Wi-Fi chip.
